Pete and I met in 1986. We were set up on a blind date by my friend who was dating Pete's friend. We "fit" from that first date. In 1988, I went to college and Pete joined the Navy. In 1990, we got engaged and married on June 15, 1991.
Pete was still in the Navy, stationed in Norfolk, VA, so we moved into our first apartment on Bayhead Drive in Virginia Beach. He was assigned to a ship, the USS Wasp in February of 1992. In May, he left for a 3 month cruise. I went to school, trying to get my degree. We spent our first anniversary apart. In February of 1993, Pete left for a six month cruise and I packed everything in storage and came home to my parents' house. I finished school and graduated with a BBA in accounting with Pete's picture pinned inside my gown. We celebrated our second anniversary apart.
Pete was honorably discharged in September of 1993 and we officially moved back to Atlanta. I got my first job and we moved to an apartment. We celebrated our first anniversary together on our 3rd!! Pete went to school and I decided to study for the CPA exam. We bought our first house, I passed the CPA exam and our life changed forever...we found out we were having a baby.
